A rigid heddle loom and all weaving tools required for learning to weave the samples studied. See notes for Weaving Hardware Package.
A takehome workbook to record your sampling, fibres and patterns.
Your supply of cotton yarn for sampling and final garment. You may find extra time to weave at home. Yarn is supplied specifically for the items you are learning during the course.
-
The course cost includes hire of a rigid heddle loom and the corresponding equipment and tools for weaving your samples. You’ll receive your package on the first session and return it at the end of the last session.
Continued hire may be pre-arranged and is based on availability.
An inventory list will be provided and checked upon return (ready to hand over to the next keen learner) This process is based on mutual trust, which is Corrin’s preferred way of trade. She kindly asks that all hardware is treated with care and every effort made to be returned at the agreed time.
Lost parts and damaged goods returned may incur a lifetime of bad karma and gossip. Full replacement costs will be requested up to the value of $400 which includes express postage to ensure the next student receives their package in time, just like yours will.

Please bring with you a pair of scissors, tapestry or darning needle, tape measure and pen/pencil. Snacks are not provided but please bring one if you like.

You will learn to weave a simple weave structure with added variations. Weaving is a slow meditative process that needs time to experiment and enjoy. We will make two useful items however, everyone learns and weaves at a different pace. Ideally you’ll walk away with some towelling and a scarf with the option of weaving a bag also. The focus here is about understanding good foundation techniques.
-
Please bring water and a snack if needed. Yarn and the relevant tools are included in the cost of the course. If you would like to weave additional items while you have access to a loom you’re welcome to however, extra yarn can be purchased separately.

Yes. It’s designed in a way that delivers the information you need to know before moving to a loom, including planning out your own colour combination in Weaving Basics 1 to weave in Weaving Basics 2.
Also, weaving hardware will be lent to you in this course. Corrin would like to get to know you first ;)
